Welcome to The White Rose Stadium!

The Beechnut Lane home of Pontefract Collieries FC has a new name! From 1st December 2010, the ground will be known as The White Rose Stadium.

Following a lottery scheme, which allowed local businesses the chance to enter a draw to have the ground named after them, the club announced that the lucky sponsors are White Rose Tools. Pontefract Collieries Chairman Guy Nottingham explained: “The club committee decided to offer the naming rights up to local businesses, and we were pleased with the response. We are delighted that White Rose Tools were pulled out of the bag, as the company have taken a real interest in the club and in supporting us in our development.” White Rose have links to the club - the company is owned by the brother of midfield dynamo Paul Haigh, with father Arthur being the club’s match-day photographer.

The Chairman also expressed some relief, as some of the other companies who entered the draw had really interesting names. “I was relieved, to say the least”, said Nottingham, as we could have enjoyed some real mickey-taking, given some of the names that were being proposed!”

White Rose Tools offer tools for all trades - Automotive, Building Contractors, Decorating, Electrical, Gardening, Lighting, Mechanical Engineering, Security, Woodworking – and for DIY and hobby customers, at excellent prices, and offer customers a first rate service. The company’s website can be viewed at www.whiterosetools.com
