U12s maintain unbeaten run with home win

Pontefract Collieries kept up their unbeaten record with a convincing win at home to Elvington on Saturday.

Ponte’s usual flowing football was hard to achieve due to high winds, with the game being played on Pontefract Park due to the home pitch having been damaged by vandals.

The 6-1 score line didn’t reflect Ponte’s dominance as they had nearly all the play and battled hard against the wind to create chance after chance.

The whole squad were outstanding to keep going for sixty minutes in horrendous conditions.

The squad was: Bradley Watson, Mitch McHugh, Sam Wright, Morgan Parsons, Coby Glew, Josh Powell, Isaac Leach, Benji Morton, Zak Wilkinson, Brogan Foster, Fraser Walker and Ty Bryer.

Goals were scored by Ty Bryer, Isaac Leach (2) and a hat-trick for Josh Powell.
