Ponte Pirates
Pontefract Collieries FC is the home of the mighty Ponte Pirates, a team of footballers with learning difficulty’s.
Gary Smiths brain child and managed by Trevor Waddington with a fantastic handful of quality coaches. The Pirates consist of around 45 players with ages ranging from 6 to 60 year old and there is current plans ahead for a league set up.
Four Ponte Pirates competed at the Leicester Special Olympics 2009 and brought home medals.
Pontefract Collieries Coaches Jon-Paul Cartledge and Trevor Waddington travelled down with the teams and assisted in the coaching of the football teams from Yorkshire & Humberside
