Ponte Colls take another step forward in 2009-10

Pontefract Colls 1st team season 2009-2010 has come to an end and the players and management team can now take time to pat themselves on the back in what has been another step in the right direction for this football club.

Colls finish the season in 5th spot after last seasons mid-table 9th and the season before “bottom” of the pile. Manager Simon Houghton has signed well towards the back end of this season and will be looking to again improve on this seasons achievements with some more quality signings to be announced very shortly.

Fothergill Staying Put

The Coll’s are delighted to announce Carl Fothergill has accepted the position to assist Simon and Darren as part of the Managing/Coaching team for next season. Carl has been a very valuable part of the squad this season, earning the utmost respect from his team mates and supporters alike. His influence off the field has been vitally important alongside his top goal scoring achievements on the field.

Carl is looking forward to helping Ponte next season in their quest for promotion to the Premier Division and his experience at a much higher level will be invaluable. This appointment will be disappointing for many clubs around us as numerous attempts to snatch him away from Ponte Colls have been tried and failed throughout the season.
